shaft balancing

Hey guys, admit it, who among you has tried balancing your drive shaft? And more importantly, did you see any improvement?
I read here that says without balancing, my car might break down eventually. But so far, it is a bit shaky but drivable. Maybe it's just a myth - nothing to worry about, but not exactly helpful?"
