Case of the Rose Tatoo

Post by Valdor »

Once again, the famous Sherlock Holmes with his associate, Watson, returns to the screens of our monitors. Case of the Rose Tatoo is another game in the Lost Files of Sherlock Holmes series by Electronic Arts.

Our brave Holmes couldn't find a job for a week when he suddenly got a short letter from his brother (you didn't know Holmes had a brother, right?) Asking him to come to a meeting at one of the London hotels. Sherlock goes there with the inseparable Watson. The moment he is about to enter the hotel, a powerful explosion starts and half the building blows up. According to a later study by Scotland Yard, the cause of the explosion was a leaky gas system. Sherlock's brother, in critical condition, found himself in the hospital, and he himself lost his willingness to work for a while. The action of the game begins at this point.

You start as Watson and your first task is to cheer Sherlock by finding some interesting job offer. Soon after, a friend and you will find yourself caught up in a big scandal in which some very high-level personalities are also involved. So you are waiting for a lot of puzzles, chilling adventures and, above all, endless conversations with many people. All set in old Victorian England. Players who have previous Sherlock adventures or are interested in the era will turn freely in this world, but others may feel a bit lost. Although there aren't many places you can visit at the beginning, more and more of them become. It takes a lot of thought to get things done. In Case of the Rose Tatoo, despite the fact that the plot is addictive, the game is quite difficult, the puzzles are difficult, the action is extensive and confusing. The artwork is fairly good - scanned characters have been inserted into the hand-drawn backgrounds.

The whole thing resembles Riddle of Master Lu, but the backgrounds were much more polished there. But there is nothing to pick on, after all, the charm of this type of games is not in the great graphics. There is hardly any music. The dialogues are delivered with a flawless London accent, which makes them completely incomprehensible to non-native English speakers. I advise you to turn on the captions right away, because a good understanding of the dialogue content is essential in this game. Case of the Rose Tatoo is a game for fans of the genre. For the average gamer expecting turbulent action and graphic fireworks, it may seem boring. However, this does not change the fact that it is a great job.
