Looking for arkade games for two players

Post by PanzerGeneral »

I am asking for help on behalf of my friend. He had been playing Chaos Engine for years with another colleague of his, but despite its sweetness, the game eventually got overeating after many years.
He is looking for a game that would meet the following requirements:
1. Would be an arcade game - not necessarily comparable to Chaos, but preferably something like that.
2. So that two people can be played - simultaneously.
3. That the game has a co-op mode.

Cars, races - not an option.

Colleagues consider Alien Breed - but it seems too difficult (initially).

The computer is a bare A1200, although it also has A500 in stock (but I don't know if it is 0.5MB or 1MB).
Do you have any suggestions?

Silkworm, although it is not necessarily in the style of Chaos, and the one who is driving a jeep is fucked up.

True, Alien Breed is not easy, but you can give the SE (special edition) a chance. It is noticeably simpler.

Chaos Engine 2 - is eliminated as there is competition, not cooperation.

arcade classic - Gauntlet
There are 3 parts of it on the Amiga, the last of which is said to be crap (but it has great music). Well, Gauntlet looked cooler on the Atari 800XL, ok, right. It had a vibe. Because it's so sweet on the Amiga. : /
I't does not compute....

I propose these games, unfortunately not in the style of Chaos:

- Troddlers - you can play in cooperation or against each other - a great puzzle-arcade game,
- Double Dragon,
- Gloom - can be played in co-op or against each other - 3D split-screen shooter. The Classic version will run on the bare A1200.

To those mentioned by the previous speakers, I would add a few games.

CE style:
Alien Breed: Tower Assault (I recommend on A1200 and joypads as you have)
New York Warriors
Watchtower

Another:
Banshee
Deluxe Galaga

As for Skeleton Krew, just like in AB: TA, you will need to control it from the keyboard as you do not have at least two-button (with independent buttons) joysticks.

I know that a completely different genre, but a great multiplayer (also cooperation) is in Worms and Worms: The Director's Cut.

P.S. I have the original for both Worms: DC and Gloom Deluxe.
